Downingtown's Firecreek Restaurant Becomes Stella Rossa

Where’s the Beef?

Lacroix alum Ben Thomas is eyeing a late-August debut for his bi-level European BYOB in the former home of BRGR Joint in Bryn Mawr. Restaurant Cerise is a collaborative effort with his wife, Elena, a Villanova native. Offerings will include a four-course prix-fixe menu and weekend brunch.

Italian Facelift

Dave Magrogan has taken over the former Firecreek Restaurant in Downingtown, transforming it into Stella Rossa, an Italian bistro offering Neapolitan pizzas, wood-fired entrées, and a well-curated selection of cheese, charcuterie and olives. Drinks include Italian wines, international craft beer and specialty cocktails.

Food Pilgrimage

Leading Philadelphia chefs will descend on Costa Rica’s Arenas Del Mar Beachfront & Rainforest Resort this fall for the hotel’s second guest-chef
series. Blackfish’s Chip Roman and Steve Howells are on the bill, as is Top Chef alum Jen Carroll. Trips run September-November. Visit arenasdelmar.com.
