‘Tis the Season for Giving: Manayunk Brewing Co. Donates 1,000 Thanksgiving Dinners

‘Tis the season for gift giving, and Manayunk Brewing Company is one step ahead with its annual “Give Thanks” program, prepping to feed 1,000 people this Thanksgiving.

Raise your pints to Manayunk Brewing Company who, for the seventh year, will be stocking their bar and restaurant this Wed., Nov. 27, with 250 jam-packed Thanksgiving baskets to feed 1,000 locals in need.

The brewery heads up this “Give Thanks” program annually to give back to the community that has supported the brewpub for 17 years. From noon–3 p.m., volunteers will line up  along Main Street, eager to collect the Thanksgiving baskets and distribute them to the pre-assigned disadvantaged families. As part of the program, Manayunk Brewing Company partners with Fresh Start Life Skills, Methodist Family Services, Achieve Ability and the Ludlow Elementary School.

In 2012, the local brewery and restaurant donated 200 baskets to feed 800 people. This year, they’re upping the ante of their giving by feeding 200 more individuals. Each basket includes all the necessary Thanksgiving pieces—turkey, gravy, stuffing, and fixings.
