Narberth recently got a new place for lunch and dinner. Located in the old Ice Café space, the Homemade Sandwich Shop opened a few weeks ago with some pretty good reviews, judging by their Facebook page. Prices are reasonable: Large salads cost around $9, and the sandwiches run anywhere from $7.50 to $9.50. The menu features four types of chicken cutlet sandwiches, a roasted pulled-pork sandwich, a homemade meatball sandwich, plus sausage, brisket and veggie sandwiches. French fries are a side option, but I think “The Cobb”—an ear of sweet corn served on a stick with butter, Parmesan cheese and seasoning—sounds delicious. And I would save room for frozen yogurt, ice cream or water ice, which I can only hope is the same as the Ice Café used to sell.
