Taste of the Nation Recap: Main Line-Area Restaurants Impress at the Charitable Event

Share

If you were lucky enough to attend Taste of the Nation at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel on June 20, then you know what a great event it was, especially since proceeds went to Share Our Strength, a wonderful nonprofit fighting childhood hunger. The caliber of chefs, mixologists and restaurants represented was outstanding, and the food was top-notch. Guests had a fun time walking from table to table (about 40 total), sampling food, bidding on fantastic auction items, and just enjoying the energy of the night.

A few Main Line-area chefs were present, including the team from Verdad Restaurant & Tequila Bar in Bryn Mawr. Chef Nick Farina’s table was buzzing with guests all night long. Funky Lil’ Kitchen’s Michael Falcone also had a table, serving up a beautiful strawberry soup that was so fresh and summery. You can always count on Falcone to create a dish that’s practically straight from the farmers’ market.

What were your favorite dishes? If you didn’t get the opportunity to attend, please go next year. You will have a ball.
