Stephen Starr Events Throws A Polynesian Dinner Party

Celebrate the start of summer and light some tiki torches by the Art Museum with the help of Starr Events’ new pop-up restaurant.

Pop-up restaurants have become popular in cities all over the country in recent years, and the concept is a great one: A chef sets up a small restaurant at a random location for one day only (or several days, tops) before packing it up.

STARR Events is hosting its own pop-up from June 28-30 on the East Terrace of the Art Museum. The al fresco restaurant will have a Polynesian theme, and in true Starr fashion, the décor will be fun, festive and perfectly complementary to the food. The menu will consist of food stations with selections like whole roasted pig carved to order, seafood wrapped in banana leaves, slow-smoked brisket and much more. There will also be plenty of Polynesian-influenced sides and desserts to accompany your entrées.

And what beach party would be complete without appropriate, exotic décor? Robertson’s Flowers will work with STARR Events to create a beautiful, tropical setting complete with tiki torches, hibiscus flowers and thatched umbrellas. There will also be entertainment, live music and an outdoor tiki bar with delicious, handcrafted cocktails. The pop-up will be open from 6-9 p.m. and the $48 price tag will buy you dinner and a cocktail (a full bar will also be available). If you’re a museum member, you’ll get 10 percent off!
