Philly's Cherry Blossom Festival Rolls Into Town

Share

Yes, the cherry blossoms bloomed a little earlier than expected this year, but that hasn’t deterred Philadelphians from coming out and enjoying the events at this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival. Before its final day on April 21, there’s still time to take part the amateur sushi-making contest hosted by the Queen of Sushi herself, Madame Saito. The contest is open to anyone who thinks he or she can come up with the best original sushi creation (all levels are welcome). Prizes will be awarded for the top three creations.

If you don’t want to participate but want to come along anyway, there will be lots of sushi and appetizers to enjoy, as well as beer and sake samples. The contest will take place April 19 at The Headhouse at 124 Lombard St. in Headhouse Square. The entry fee for participants is $45 and $20 for foodies and spectators.

To register, e-mail Madame Saito at madamesaito@gmail.com.
