Thru May 1, the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts is offering not only loads of theater, fashion and music but also a wonderful culinary component. The festival has paired 11 master chefs from Paris and Lyon, France, with Philadelphia chefs from restaurants like Lacroix, Le Bec-Fin, Bistrot La Minette and Bibou to create a special “PIFA Menu” that has both local and French flair. If you can’t make it to dinner at one of these restaurants but still want to take part in PIFA’s foodie fun, Wolfgang Puck Catering is operating three culinary outposts at the Kimmel Center. Le PIFA Bistro serves a Parisian, bistro-inspired menu, with items like French onion soup and grilled tuna Niçoise salad. The PECO Bar offers Parisian street-style food, such as ham-and-cheese baguettes, pastries and crêpes. And, finally, an art installation created specifically for PIFA is home to the Crêperie Cart, which dishes out crêpes with homemade fillings: honey, chocolate ganache, bananas, Chantilly cream and more.
