Penns Woods Winery Hosts Weekend Fondue Nights

This December, when you visit Penns Woods Winery for a weekend wine tasting, you can also indulge in a special fondue for two. Pick between cheese or chocolate fondue infused with Penns Woods wine.

Made with Penns Woods chardonnay, the cheese fondue is a blend of five cheeses created by Lisa Ferraro Klinge of Taste Artisanal Market in Newark, Del. It comes with a buffet of apples, celery, bread, cornichons and carrots. The dessert fondue is dark Ghirardelli chocolate melted with Penns Woods merlot, drizzled over sweet treats like vanilla wafers and marshmallows. Gluten-free options are also available.

Order a glass, bottle or wine tasting to enhance the fondue experience. This month, the winery is serving its signature mulled wine. The featured bottle is Cabernet Franc Reserve 2014, which is full-bodied and bursting with aromas of raspberry, vanilla and chocolate.

Fondue is $18.99 per couple, and a tasting is $12 for a flight of six wines.
