Narberth's Art of Bread: Bread and Pastries and Quiche, Oh My!

Georges Perrier’s Main Line boulangerie has Narberth residents filling their bread baskets and breakfast plates with French-inspired delights.

The Art of Bread, Georges Perrier’s new Narberth café and boulangerie was already bustling just hours after opening on Wednesday when I stopped in for a look. Open since 7 a.m., I was definitely not the first one to come in for a peek and a hot cup of Illy coffee. The delicious smell of freshly baked pastries and bread hits you in the face when you walk in, and there were several early birds reading the paper and enjoying a croissant at a table inside. As well as pastries, the Montgomery Avenue café has several varieties of tartines (open faced sandwiches), including the traditional Croque Monsieur and Madame and also several hot sandwiches and quiche served with a salad, dessert and bread. If you can’t get out of the office on your lunch break, the café delivers and even offers “lunch boxes,” a choice of chicken, seafood or Caesar salad with fruit and bread or a sandwich with a salad and fruit tart. Sounds good to me! 920 Montgomery Ave., Narberth; (610) 660-8222, artofbreadgyp.com.
