Main Line’s Holiday Cocktail Guide

Whether you enjoy them during a night out or duplicate them for a holiday party, these libations are sure to put you in the holiday spirit.

The holiday party season is in full swing, and if you are on the hunt for first-rate spirited sips to toast this month’s good cheer, consider these must-have Main Line cocktails on the top of your imbibing list.

Isabella's Eggnog Martini (Photo by Dallyn Pavey)Tempt your tastebuds with Isabella’s Eggnog Martini, a medley of cool-weathered flavors, swirling house-made spiced eggnog with amaretto, Stoli Vanilla with Kahlúa, and a fine sprinkle of fresh cinnamon. Other festive sips at the chic Conshy spot include the Chocolate Covered Candy Cane, a blend of Godiva dark chocolate liqueur and Stoli Vanilla with a peppermint rim, and the pretty, red-hued Cranberry Pomegranate Martini accented with sugared cranberries.

Harvest Cranberry Bourbon (Photo by Nathan Garber)One of the highlights of Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar’s season’s drink list is the Harvest Cranberry Bourbon. This drink is reminiscent of a classic Manhattan, but with a fresh set of ingredients to create a new balance of flavors. Woodford Reserve bourbon serves as the base, while agave nectar and ginger ale provide sweetness and complexity, and fresh muddled cranberries provide an attractive sourness to the overall flavor profile.

The Other Mrs. Claus Check your holiday schedule—and check it twice—so you can stop at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in King of Prussia for a Naughty or Nice martini before Santa rolls into town. The two-deep themed martini list comes in two shades—order one up depending on how good you’ve been this year: the friendly Santa’s Little Helper swirled with Ketel One vodka and eggnog, and the feisty Other Mrs. Claus, splashed with Mount Gay Silver rum, fresh lime juice and zested with a jalapeño slice.

Spicy & Sweet (Photo by Nina Lea Photography)We always have Paramour’s master mixologists on the pulse per each holiday-themed concoction they whip up, including the sweet-as-candy Salted Plum swig, crafted with plum-infused rum, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur and vanilla cotton candy. However, our favorite sip this season is the Spicy & Sweet, a bold, stiff drink mingling Buffalo Trace bourbon and Quady VYA sweet vermouth, with the “icing on the Christmas cake” being the finishing dashes of Aztec chocolate bitters.

Shisho Mojito (Photo by Amy Strauss)Care for something on the lighter side? Azie on Main’s refreshing Shiso Mojito will be a perfect choice for you, with the Asian culinary herb being the shining star of this cocktail, an additive that takes on attractive, mint-like qualities.

Nectar’s Hibiscus Bliss is a sure-fire way to take your tastebuds on a get-away while toasting to your holiday evening, as crafted with sparkling wine, raspberry syrup and a hibiscus flower.
