Brave the season’s icy temperatures all for the love of award-winning local wine. For Chaddsford Winery’s 2013 winter season, their interactive Snow Bar returns to the rolling hills of the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail, up and running through March 31.
Outdoor heated tents and roaring fire pits will line the perimeter, with specials available on mugs of hot mulled wine and wine cocktails. Another perk? A $20 guided wine and cheese pairing is available every Saturday and Sunday through Jan. 27, from noon-6 p.m. The weekend treat includes a tray of assorted artisan cheeses and a full tasting through Chaddsford’s collection of dry and sweet wines. Participants also receive a commemorative wine glass to take home, as well as educational handouts reflecting the day’s cheese and wine pairings.
A variety of wines will also be available by the glass to encourage guests to sip and linger. Snowman-making is encouraged on exceptionally snowy weekends.
