Celebrate living in wine land throughout March by tasting Pennsylvania-produced wines at Barrels on the Brandywine. Starting Saturday, March 1, six Brandywine Valley Wine Trail wineries will be featuring tastings of newly released wines and offering samplings of their flagship varietals. In addition to wine tasting, oenophiles and novices alike can learn what “vertical tasting” is (and why you should care), enjoy aged balsamic vinegars, local cheeses and entertainment.
Want to explore the Brandywine Wine Trail all month? Grab yourself an official Barrels on the Brandywine passport. The passport ($25) will give you perks at each location including wine samples, chances to win a T-shirt and a ticket pack to the popular Brandywine Food & Wine Festival.
Order passports online here (allow time for arrival via U.S. mail) or purchase at the first winery you visit. Groups of six or more are encouraged to contact individual wineries to schedule tasting times. Make it a weekend staycation and enjoy local lodging at the trail’s lodging partners.
Participating Brandywine Valley Wine Trail members include: Black Walnut Winery, Borderland Vineyard, Kreutz Creek Vineyards, Paradocx Vineyard, Patone Cellars and Penns Woods Winery. For full event details, visit bvwinetrail.com.
