Ardmore Welcomes Oktoberfest, Narberth to Follow Suit Next Month

The seasonal beer festival features plenty of German food, drink and entertainment for all ages.

Ardmore will channel its inner Munich on Sept. 29 when it hosts its annual Oktoberfest celebration on Cricket Avenue between Cricket Terrace and West Athens Avenue. As is the tradition every year, McCloskey’s Tavern, John Henry’s Pub and Gillane’s Bar & Grill will be offering food and drink specials both inside and outside on the streets where the beer will be flowing from 12-8 p.m. By the way, this is not an adults-only event. There will be plenty of activities for the kids including face painting, charicatures and much more. Live music provided by German bands will entertain guests throughout the entire day.

On Oct. 6, Narberth is having its own Oktoberfest celebration as well. For $35 (all proceeds benefit the Narberth Fire Company and Narberth Dickens Festival), adults and kids are welcome to come out and enjoy a pig roast, pretzels, bratwurst, sauerkraut, local beers and much more. Live music will also be provided. The event takes place from 5-9 p.m. under the tents in Narberth Park. Visit narberthonline.com to purchase tickets.
