3 Restaurant Closings in the Western Suburbs

Morrell Park, Levante at the Stables and 39 West American Bistro have shut.

Levante at the Stables

Despite the fact that Chester Springs’ Levante at the Stables exploded in popularity this past summer, this pop up hot spot won’t be opening again. According to its Facebook page, the Levante Brewing Company’s license does not permit the beer garden to participate in the landowner’s vision for a mixed use entertainment facility. In the meantime, the Levante crew will search for another location to pursue this pop-up beer garden in the future.

Although it was fairly new to the scene, West Chester’s 39 West American Bistro has closed its doors. The establishment was garnering rave reviews, so the closure comes as a surprise. We’re sad to see it—and its menu of wok-fried cod, maple-glazed pork belly, beet and goat cheese salad and barbecue bacon-wrapped meatloaf—go so soon.

Morrell Park

We recently wrote about the much anticipated opening of Morrell Park in Phoenixville, an ambitious endeavor undertaken by Michael Falcone of HEART Food Truck, but the vision won’t be coming to fruition. A menu was in the works, a website created and a location chosen, but recently, the Morrell Park Facebook page announced that it will “not be opening at our previously announced location at this time.” We’ll keep an eye out to see if Falcone chooses another location. You can still visit HEART Food Truck at the Phoenixville Farmers’ Market this season.
