Di Bruno Bros. Becomes More Accessible with Instacart’s Help

Get the big cheese delivered right to your door step.

In mid-December, Di Bruno Bros. upped the ante on accessing their high-caliber selection of imported and domestic meats and cheeses by partnering with the home delivery service Instacart. Now, Main Line and Philadelphia dwellers can score a door-delivered supply of their fine food favorites in an hour’s time by a few quick clicks online.

But, how does the service really work? We put Instacart and Di Bruno Bros. to the test. In preparation for a holiday soiree, we swung over to Instacart.com to construct a quick cheese board for our incoming guests. Amidst the flurry of party prep, we eliminated having to drive to Suburban Square during busy shopping season by having our shopping list delivered on a silver platter.

Here’s how the process unfolded: In just five minutes, we perused the online shop of Di Bruno Bros via Instacart, selected four cheeses, and placed our first order. From Neal’s Yard Dairy’s earthy and complex Blue Colston Bassett to the king of French brie, Rouzaire Brie De Meaux; the creamy Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog and the nutty aged classic Prima Donna, we couldn’t wait to acquaint our guests with the hand-picked spread of cheesy delights. Once you place your order, Instacart provides impressive customer service, sending along a confirmation text that the order is being processed. They even dial customers up via phone if complications occur with your order. For example, if Di Bruno Bros. has limited inventory on a specific cheese you order, Instacart will speak with one of Di Bruno’s expert cheesemongers to offer you a worthy replacement. But don’t worry—any order alterations happen in minutes, so it’s as quick as standing at the cheese counter yourself.

Once your order is finalized, an Instacart Personal Shopper heads your way with your order. Delivery is promised within an hour or two (you pick your preference), and even a to-the-minute delivery time is provided as they are on their way. Refreshingly so, the arrival time is accurate and your order even arrives in an adorable food-inspired tote (our tote’s text read: “kale, avocado, quinoa, blueberries, and chocolate—perfect for any food lover”).

The verdict: Instacart makes shopping Di Bruno Bros.’ wealth of gourmet goods quick and easy and — most importantly— amazingly convenient. When shopping your local Di Bruno Bros. location isn’t in the cards for your schedule, we recommend placing an Instacart order. Better yet, here’s a perk: customers can open an account at www.Instacart.com and will get free delivery on their first order of $10 or more. Instacart also offers a service called InstacartExpress—an annual membership that eliminates delivery fees for all orders of $35 or more, and costs $99 (sign up here for a free two-week trial).
