DanDan owners Kevin and Catherina “Cat” Huang have some experience in delivering authentic Szechuan-Taiwanese cuisine to the masses. Having successfully mastered the concept at DanDan’s Rittenhouse big sister, the duo has come home to Wayne.
In the dining room, dark hardwood floors, shiny metallic palettes with zen-like art, and contemporary lanterns combine for an engaging ambiance. “Not to be confused with fusion,” notes Kevin, the menu frequently strays from typical Asian fare. Highlights include the signature DanDan noodles, crisp, golden bunapi mushrooms, sweet-braised dongo pork, and the spicy-sour ribeye pot. Heat can be adjusted by customer preference.
There’s an evolving list of beer and wine, and the funky urban-style bar pours visually inspiring cocktails. Apt twists like chili oil and soy sauce give the sips their sass.
