In their continuing quest to bring upscale Sichuan and Taiwanese cuisine to the masses, Kevin and “Cat” Huang have opened their third DanDan location in Ardmore’s Suburban Square. “This location combines the foot traffic of our Philadelphia location with the space and seating in Wayne,” says Justin Gouge, DanDan’s regional manager.

The impressive interior includes a 15-seat bar, cushy booths and a glass-walled “conservatory” that floods the middle of the restaurant with natural light. Small plates include the crisp spicy cucumber, beef and tripe in chili oil, scallion pancakes, and pot stickers. The signature DanDan Noodles are topped with spicy pork.
Among the larger plates are standouts like pickled Sichuan shrimp, ginger-shredded duck and twice-cooked fish. We loved the dry pot beef, served sizzling in a mini wok loaded with thin slices of the tender protein, plus black mushrooms, bamboo shoots, red and green bell peppers, and onions.
Cocktails, beer and wine are available. As you can imagine, takeout business is thriving.
