Coming Soon to Radnor: Estia Greek Taverna Eyes a Spring 2014 Opening

Another Philadelphia heavy hitter is headed to the Main Line to lay down his roots for a brand-new concept.

Another Philadelphia heavy hitter, Nick Pashalis (of Estia, Pietro’s Coal-Oven Pizzeria), is headed to the Main Line to launch a brand-new concept. With the help of his brother Pete Pashalis, and Pete’s brother-in-law, John Lois, the trio is rehabbing a prime Radnor space (200 Radnor-Chester Road, near Lancaster Avenue), to soon feature a more casual Estia spin-off dubbed Estia Greek Taverna.

While their Main Line location will not swing open its doors until spring 2014, the premier installment of the Estia Greek Taverna brand will land first in New Jersey (at 140 West Route 70) come early 2014.

Both locations of the coming-soon Mediterranean hub will bring the Estia clan’s fresh Greek flavors and ambience to the suburbs, but this time with a more casual/inexpensive spin to it. Stylized as rustic-chic with white-washed brick, marble floors, exposed wooden beams, and even living olive trees, the seafood-heavy concepts will sling everything from Maine lobster to a raw bar, tantalizing appetizers, and traditional Greek entrees.

Teases of the menu include: snacks like the Estia Chips (paper-thin sliced zucchini and eggplant served with homemade tzatziki) and the charcoal-grilled octopus with onions and capers. Enticing entrees include Estia’s famous lavraki (a Mediterranean sea bass) and the traditional Greek moussaka with a creamy kefalograviera béchamel. Starters and salads range in price from $7–$13, with entrees ranging from $15–$28.

The beverage program is equally as exciting, as it will spotlight a Greek-inspired cocktail list aside a rare and domestic bottled beer roster.

Trust us—you’ll want to start counting down the days until this Main Line opening. For more information, visit estiataverna.com.
