Just last week, Main Line brunch mainstay The Classic Diner announced that they’d be expanding to a new location. Come next month, expect to catch the Malvern MVP slinging its renowned eggs Benedicts and brioche French toast now in downtown West Chester, in the former home of Jake’s Steaks and Shakes at 16 E. Gay Street.
The restaurant expansion is a partnership by The Classic Diner owners Kristina Flynn and Tom Farrell and Sovana Bistro owners Linda and Nick Farrell. Tom Farrell suggested that after two decades in their premier location, first debuting in 1995, they’ve been looking to expand The Classic Diner footprint.
“We found the perfect location in the [West Chester] borough, near where the four of us grew up,” he said. The Farrell brothers also collaborated earlier this year on the first location of RapiDOUGH in Collegeville, with two more locations rolling out in early 2015.
The newest Classic Diner haunt will spotlight a similar menu to its original, featuring a mix of well-presented traditional and non-traditional classic diner fare. From the site’s notorious bacon and buttermilk pancakes, to lunch selections like the Boston BBQ pulled pork, crab cake sandwiches topped with chili lime aioli and custom-order burgers, you can expect all your favorites—among new surprises—at this fresh, from-scratch hub.
The Classic Diner of West Chester will serve breakfast and lunch from 7 a.m.–3 p.m., seven days a week. More details on the Classic Diner expansion at www.theclassicdinerpa.com.
