Más Mexicali Cantina has five days of fun planned, starting with salsa lessons dancing, plus Flamenco dancers, on Friday. On Saturday, don’t miss the sombrero dance party, featuring a DJ and Corona girls. Taco Bowl 2015 kicks off on May 3 with a taco-eating contest and live music by Triage. Monday is margarita madness. On Tuesday, doors open at 11 a.m. for an all-day Cinco de Mayo party.

Baggataway Tavern is hosting its annual mash-up of the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo, aka Derby de Mayo. This rain-or-shine event takes place 2-10 p.m. and will feature a margarita bar, mint juleps, Dos Equis (and Dos Equis girls), Corona Light, an authentic taco bar, and live music from the Boatloads. The $5 cover charge will be donated to Cradles to Crayons.

Taking place 11 a.m.-5 p.m., the Cinco de Mayo Festival is a multicultural, family-friendly street festival, highlighting the arts, music and food. Diverse financial, health and educational organizations also participate.

Raise a glass of tequila, and toast the fateful day that Gen. Zaragoza defeated the odds and the French. Doors open at 9 a.m., so start your Cinco de Mayo with breakfast burritos, egg-chiladas and cornbread. All-day drink specials will keep the party rocking, along with games, giveaways and a chance to win free Mad Mex for a year. Happy hour and late-night specials will also be available.

Coyote Crossing’s Giant Ultimate Burrito Challenge is twofold: You are not just accepting a challenge to eat a large, delicious burrito, but you are also helping Beats for Bella raise money and awareness for congenital heart defects. It costs $20 to enter, which will be donated to Beats for Bella.

The Giant Ultimate Burrito, “The Borzilla,” is a little over a foot long and weighs approximately four pounds. It’s filled with chicken, rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. See the official rules and more details at
