Celebrate Valentine's Day with Isabella’s Edible Aphrodisiac 10-Course Tasting Menu

Oysters and figs and chocolate, oh my! Get in the mood with you main squeeze at Isabella for an unforgettable evening.

Some menus are romantic. Some are just down right sensual. The Valentine offerings dreamed up by Isabella chef Michael Cappon of Isabella fall under the latter. The tasting menu is comprised of sensual foods that are guaranteed to create the mood for romance. How so, you say?

Conshohocken’s well-known Mediterranean hot spot has designed a menu featuring 10 top aphrodisiac foods believed to stimulate the libido by stirring up one’s hormones.

From an introductory course of hass avocado with organic greens and piquillo peppers that packs high volumes of vitamin B6, to “drunken” figs stuffed with Valdeón blue cheese that have held esteem as the fruit of love and fertility ever since biblical times.

We suggest you fixate your eyes on course eight, a honey-cured duck confit paired with sour cherry compote, which measures in high in boron—a mineral associated with the use of estrogen in the female body. The finale, a chocolate trio of bête noir, burnt orange chocolate mousse and chocolate hazelnut ice cream, we suspect will leave all guests dizzy in a delicious trance.

Isabella’s Edible Aphrodisiac 10-Course Tasting Menu is available Thurs., Feb. 14Sat., Feb. 16. The cost is $40 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
