SUDS SHOWDOWN: Whole Foods Market in Devon is hosting (C)hopped, the ultimate cooking-with-beer competition, for Philly Beer Week. On June 7 from noon to 4 p.m., four esteemed local chefs (to be announced) will face off in a vigorous in-store battle, each preparing dishes with select Yards Brewing Company varieties.

BURGERS AND BOOZE: Mark, Donnie and Paul Wahlberg are bringing their Boston-founded, fast-casual Wahlburgers (also the subject of an A&E reality series) to the Philadelphia area, setting their sights on five locations around the region, including King of Prussia and Rittenhouse Square.

LOCAL SHOWCASE: The Brandywine Food & Wine Festival returns June 14 at the Myrick Conservation Center in West Chester, offering local wineries, restaurants and food trucks, small-batch food artisans, live music and more. Visit www.pawinefestival.com.  

OPENING: Right about now, Marvin Graaf (Falls Taproom) should be putting the finishing touches on Cresheim Valley Grain Exchange in Mount Airy. Expect a modern restaurant and bar with a rustic aesthetic, house-infused cocktails, and a locally sourced, country-inspired menu.
