Are California dreams giving you the blues this summer? Look no further from the Main Line than Manayunk to experience the pink hue of Malibu Barbie in July…just in time for the arrival of Barbie on the big screen, we might add.
Starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, Will Ferrell and more, the Barbie movie is a must-see for childhood fans of the toys and adults alike. The fantasy-comedy directed by Greta Gerwig has been in development since 2009, but after nearly a decade and a half of anticipation, the main event is finally here. Join Barbie and Ken as they get a chance to leave the colorful world of Barbie Land and experience the joys and perils of living in the real world.
With the flick coming to theaters as soon as July 21, one of Philadelphia’s most Instagrammable bistros, Blondie, is hosting a two week-long attraction honoring what’s sure to be the smash hit of the summer.
Blondie plans to indulge guests in this immersive experience with a smattering of Barbie-themed cocktails and menu items in its aptly named “Pink Room.” These limited-edition cocktails include the Malibu Blondie, a Bay Breeze-inspired creation; the Blondie Bombshell, a doctored raspberry martini; and a frosé called Ken’s Kiss.
Meanwhile, special pink-colored menu items include Barbie’s Berry Bliss Pancakes and the Pretty in Pink Cake.
The “Pink Room,” lined with brightly colored bubblegum décor and design elements, provides the ideal backdrop to enhance your picture-perfect meal. Further elevating the experience, Blondie prepares to stream several classic blockbuster hits fit for Barbie World patrons.
Cult-classic rom-coms and a Malibu Barbie-inspired playlist will turn Blondie into a Barbie Dream House filled with all the nostalgic accoutrements necessary for a vibrant experience.
