Black Powder Tavern will host its wildly popular Historical Dinner Series on Nov. 19 with a focus on great food, brews and some fascinating facts about the three-day historic Battle of Whitemarsh.
During the dinner, Bob Bradley, a member of the American Revolution Round Table of Philadelphia, will be the featured speaker, giving attendees an overview of the events following the Battle of Germantown through George Washington’s winter camp at Valley Forge. Guests will be regaled with stories of what happened during the next chapter of the Philadelphia campaign, including the army’s encampment in the hills of the Whitemarsh area.
Tickets for the dinner are $45. During the dinner, Yards Brewing Company will pour the aptly named Thomas Jefferson Golden Ale and George Washington Porter. Look for light hors d’oeuvres, plus a crafted menu of Yankee pot roast, grilled salmon and chicken pot pie for dinner. A Q&A session will follow, along with coffee and mini desserts.
Look for additional historically-themed dinners on Dec. 17, focusing on Fort Mifflin, and Jan. 21, 2020, when the Battle of the Kegs takes center stage.
