Philadelphia Zoo’s Summer Ale Fest Returns on June 22

The event features over 150 craft beer and cider selections, plus food trucks and activities.

The Philadelphia Zoo‘s ninth annual Summer Ale Festival returns on June 22, bringing with it a vast selection of beers and ciders, plus local food trucks, live music and the zoo’s award-winning exhibits.

The 21-and-over event will take place from 7-10 p.m. and features more than 70 breweries pouring over 150 beers and ciders. Local participants include La Cabra Brewing, Locust Lane Craft Brewery, McKenzie Brew House, Sterling Pig Brewery, Victory Brewing Company and Yards Brewing Company.

A selection of food trucks will also be situated throughout the zoo for pay-as-you-go dining. This year’s participants include Authentik Byrek, Baby Blues BBQ, Calle del Sabor and the Munchy Machine.

DJs Blake and Tree, the Bad Bees and Kickbax Band will perform live, as well.

While food and drink are the main attractions, attendees can also enjoy private access to various exhibits including the new Creatures of Habitat. The display includes 12 life-sized scenes of endangered animals created from LEGO bricks.

Summer Ale Fest tickets are $85 for early admission, $65 for general admission and $35 for non-drinkers. Proceeds from the event benefit the zoo and it’s 1,300 animals.
