Don’t like to go anywhere without your pup? The Brandywine River Museum of Art will host its inaugural Wags and Wine event—which is leashed dog-friendly—on June 29 from 2-6 p.m. Taking place in the museum’s quaint cobblestone courtyard, the pay-as-you-go event will feature food, beverages and local wineries.
Look for a summer barbecue-inspired menu from executive chef Mike Kline of the museum’s Millstone Café, complete with mouth-watering pulled pork, roasted barbecue chicken and plenty of side dishes. Those items will pair perfectly with sips from local wineries Galer Estate, 1723 Vineyards and White Horse Winery. Americana rock music completes the fun, with a live performance by the Jayplayers.
While there, two-legged visitors can meander the museum, where its latest exhibit, N. C. Wyeth: New Perspectives, is on view. It will be the first exhibition in almost 50 years to examine in depth the entirety of N. C. Wyeth’s multifaceted oeuvre—from fine paintings, illustrations, murals and advertising commissions.
