Barren Hill Tavern Names Scott Morrison as Head Brewer

This guy knows his beer: With 30 taps at his disposal, Morrison will feature something for every taste at the highly anticipated Barren Hill Tavern.

Scott Morrison, formerly of Dock Street Brewing Co. and McKenzie Brew House, has been named Head Brewer of the soon-to-open Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery.

The winner of seven Great American Beer Festival medals and one World Beer Cup, Morrison’s wealth of experience will serve him well at Barren Hill, which plans to dedicate six of its 30 draft lines to eclectic, interesting house-made brews. Three of the lines will be reserved for accessible brews such as IPAs and lagers, while the other three will be more adventurous. The house-made brews will also be available at Devil’s Den and Old Eagle Tavern.

In addition to the original brews, Barren Hill will offer more than 24 craft beer selections on draft and a variety of cans and bottles. Executive chef Paul Trowbridge of Devil’s Den will craft a menu of beer-inspired food that incorporates flavor and technique into elevated gastropub fare.
