Avola Kitchen + Bar

This contemporary, sleek and oh-so-chic spot is open for the first time this Christmas Eve serving dinner 4-9 p.m. in both the bar area and main dining rooms. Authentic homemade pastas and pizzas, plus Mediterranean cuisine will pair deliciously with a glass of complimentary prosecco. Or enjoy a dinner special of prime rib and osso buco, with suggested wine pairngs, for $29.

Bar Avalon

Chef John Brandt-Lee prepares his take on the feast of the seven fishes dinner as a five-course experience for $49 per person. Served family style, look for antipasti, seafood pescatore, grilled vegetable and fried calamari to get you started, with beignets and bread pudding to finish.

Black Powder Tavern

Catherine’s Restaurant

This historic former general store is the perfect place to put you in the holiday spirit. Catherine’s will offer festive bites from 5-8 p.m., complete with a menu of salmon mandarine mint, filet mignon or pork tenderloin. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine or bubbly to enjoy with family and friends in the intimate and festive location.

The Gables at Chadds Ford

This restored barn kindles the Christmas spirit in every cozy corner as new executive chef Darryl Butts focuses on highlighting some favorites (mushroom soup, short ribs and shrimp and grits). Named after owner Ann Kolenick’s grandfather, be sure to taste the Papa Dino, an oak barrel-aged Manhattan. Bonus: There will be live holiday music.

La Fava

A la carte and festive holiday specials are on the menu at this fairly new Italian restaurant and bar. Enjoy a 3-course prix fixe “feast of the seven fishes,” to try with an impressive wine selection. Seasonal cocktails and Christmas spirit abound!
