11 New Restaurants Coming Soon to Philadelphia’s Western Suburbs

From Greek to Thai, the restaurant renaissance continues into 2019.

Avalon Bistro

John Brandt-Lee is expanding to a new location just steps from the Bryn Mawr Film Institute in the former Marbles and Verdad space. Mirroring the cuisine of his Bar Avalon in West Chester, expect French/Italian-themed dishes and live music when Avalon Bistro opens late this spring.

Cafe de Thai

Owner Jay Dye is counting down to an official grand opening any day in the borough of Kennett Square, where he’ll serve authentic Thai cuisine thanks to chef Jaruwanee Primo. The 60-seat spot will feature housemade sauces and fresh local ingredients.

Clean Juice

Started in 2014 as the brainchild of Kat and Landon Eckles, Clean Juice has become a healthy smoothies and juices mecca. Its grand opening will take place on Feb. 16, complete with a DJ, face painters, product samples, a raffle and more.

Conshohocken Brewing

The brewery is adding a tasting room, production facility and canning line in King of Prussia early this year. The new location is expected to open this month. Look for crowd favorites like cheese curds, fried pickles, Brussel sprouts, salads, sandwiches and several 12-inch pizza options, plus, of course, great beer.

Diner @ Manayunk

This diner just opened on Main Street for breakfast and lunch. Indulge in chicken and waffles, burgers, breakfast favorites, plus Greek fare, all served in a colorful diner.

M2o Burgers & Salads

M2o will be opening soon in the Wynnewood Shopping Center in the former Elevation Burger spot. This is the second location (the original is in Queen Village). Look for made-to-order burgers, fries, salads and shakes.

Nui Nui Kitchen

Located in the former Thai L’Elephant, this stepped-up Asian fusion menu with a French twist is now open with a new name and a refreshed casual vibe from the same owners. Plenty of poultry, fish and beef dishes grace the menu, as do some thoughtful vegan choices.

Poke Bros.

With 20 Midwest and East Coast franchises and counting, the “sushi-in-a-bowl” signature Hawaiian concept is now in West Chester. Fresh tuna, salmon and shrimp topped with housemade sauces as well as Hawaiian sliders and gluten free options are garnering rave early reviews since opening in late January.

Sedona Taphouse

No word yet on the opening date, but the 7,000 square-foot building in downtown Phoenixville will boast two bars, an outdoor patio and gas fireplaces, for plenty of rustic ambience. The menu will include Black Angus beef, fresh seafood and an extensive craft brew and cocktail program.

Simple Greek

The build-your-own pita and bowl spot is putting its claim on Wayne with a grand opening up any day now. Look for an open kitchen and Greek atmosphere in a fast casual setting.

Up-Ryes Bagel

A deli, cafe and bakery all rolled into one is taking shape at this former Mrs. Marty’s location near Parvins Pharmacy, though an opening date and additional details have yet to be released.
