Head to the Navy Yard for a celebration of the area’s best pizza spots. From 12-4 p.m., visitors can sample slices from over 20 vendors from around the city and suburbs. The festival also features live entertainment, games and chef demonstrations.
BBQ & Bluegrass at Highland Orchards Farm and Market

Enjoy tasty food and live bluegrass music from 12-5 p.m. at Highland Orchard’s festival. The Munchy Machine food truck and Downingtown’s Dressler Estate are among the local vendors providing food and drinks. Attendees can also pick their own berries and play with furry companions at the All 4 Paws Rescue service’s on-site pet adoptions.

The Philly Ice Cream Scoop

Craving sugar? Look no further than Reading Terminal Market’s collaboration with Wawa Welcome America and Bassetts Ice Cream. Look for 14 local ice cream stops in the historic market. Some of the usual merchants will also add ice cream to their menus exclusively for the festival.
Philly Reggae Wine, Food and Music Festival

Held at the Belmont Mansion in Fairmount Park from 2-8 p.m., this reggae-inspired celebration includes food vendors, wine tastings, plus live reggae performances. Tickets also include unlimited tastings from Caribbean-based winery Soca Wine.
Blueberry Festival at Linvilla Orchards

Get a serious dose of antioxidants at Linvilla Orchards’ Blueberry Festival. Kicking off at 8 a.m., visitors can venture into the fields to pick their own blueberries. The all-day festival also includes a blueberry pie-eating contest and cooking tips. Linvilla’s regular attractions, including hayrides and a farmer’s market, will also be open.

Experience a range of savory treats all in one place at this festival, which will take place from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., and includes live bands as well as the Ship Bottom Brewery beer garden.
Peach Festival at Linvilla Orchards

Later in the summer, Linvilla will also be hosting a series of events dedicated to peaches since August is National Peach Month. Visitors can pick their own peaches from the orchards, have their faces painted and enjoy pony rides, making the festival a fun day for the whole family.
2nd Street Festival in Northern Liberties

Now in its 11th year, this annual celebration of businesses in Philadelphia’s Northern Liberties neighborhood will take place from 12-10 p.m. between Girard and Spring Garden streets. Last year saw 18 restaurants, 23 food trucks and tents, plus eight dessert vendors in attendance, so expect something similar this year. Three stages will feature live music and there will also be street space for performances.
Food Truck and Music Festival at East Goshen Township Park
Aug. 24, West Chester
Held in the park’s amphitheater from 4-8 p.m., this festival features three bands and 13 regional food trucks. Local vendors include Malvern’s The Happy Pita, West Chester’s Old Original Nick’s Roast Beef and Dia Doce’s gourmet cupcakes.
Kennett Square Mushroom Festival
Sept. 7-8, Kennett Square
One of the largest annual local food festivals, this post-Labor Day celebration is all about the area’s favorite fungi. Highlights include local mushroom farmers and vendors to purchase goods from, plus live entertainment. The festival kicks off on Friday at 6 p.m. with a parade and an old-fashioned carnival. Look for cooking competitions and outdoor activities such as zip lining and bungee jumping throughout the weekend.
Philadelphia Honey Festival
Sept. 6-8, Philadelphia
Three different locations throughout the city will showcase local and organic honey producers. Friday’s outdoor market and live speakers will take place at the Glen Foerd on the Delaware estate, while Saturday features food trucks and beekeeper discussions at Germantown’s Wyck historic house. On Sunday, the festival will take place in Bartram’s Garden and includes home brewing demonstrations as well as two children’s bee parades.
