The Bercy is Set to Open in Early April

The much-anticipated restaurant is the brain child of two Stephen Starr alums.

Initially intended to open last fall, the Bercy is set to host its for the week of April 9. Expect classically inspired brasserie cuisine rooted in simple cooking techniques that allow the ingredients to shine.

With Stephen Starr alums Joe Monnich—former executive chef of Parc and the Dandelion—and Justin Weathers—of Starr Restaurant Group, Parc and Continental Mid-town—behind the scene, we know the Bercy is going to be special. The two partnered up to bring us Stove & Tap in Lansdale and Al Pastor in Exton. With the Bercy, they’ve taken up residence in the former Haverford Trust building, more recently home to Primavera Pizza Kitchen. Garces alum Austin Schafer will also join them as chef de cuisine.

Balongue Design has transformed the two story restaurant into a timeless and casually chic neighborhood establishment. When you walk through the doors, you’ll feel as though you’re entering a stunning grand hotel, one that is both comfortable and elegant. With 240 seats, as well as a 60-foot, U-shaped bar that hosts 40, there will be more than enough room for large get-togethers after work for happy hour or a party.

The Bercy will serve lunch, weekday breakfast and weekend brunch, plus all-day dining and cafe options. The menu will feature fresh homemade pastas, steakhouse style cuts, a raw bar with daily selections of fresh oysters and seafood, and an array of gluten-free and vegan options.

As for the drinks, the aggressive and value-driven wine program offers a curated list of quality and classic wines, plus wines by the glass on tap: eight reds, eight whites, plus sparkling and rosé. The cocktail program is a modern take on classic French and sparkling cocktails, and the beer draft and bottle program is eclectic and international. Also expect a selection of French ciders.
