Wawa Teamed up with 2SP Brewing Company to Bring Back the Coffee Stout

The specialty brew will be available starting Dec. 6.

Delaware County partners Bob Barrar, head brewer at 2SP Brewing Company, and Michael McLaughlin, Wawa’s concept development manager, teamed up last year to create a hometown beer dubbed Winter Reserve Coffee Stout. Following its immense popularity, the duo have done it again, upping the ante with the addition of an all-new bourbon barrel-finished version known as Reserve Reserve.

“At Wawa, supporting our local neighbors is at the heart of everything we do, which makes our special partnership with 2SP Brewing Company so important to us,” says Mike Sherlock, Wawa’s chief product marketing officer.

In addition to these two locally-focused brews, Wawa is also teaming up with partners in Florida and Virginia to create additional sips. The Coffee Cake Reserve Stout is produced with Richmond, Va.’s Hardywood Park Craft Brewery and the aptly-named Snowbird Reserve Vanilla Porter comes from a collaboration with Coppertail Brewing Company in Tampa, Fla.

All of the new beers make use of the Wawa Winter Reserve Coffee, but each brewery created its own special recipe. Wawa will kick off a mutli-state “brew tour” starting Dec. 6 in Chadds Ford. It will culminate on Feb. 20, 2020 in Tampa. Attendees can experience live firkin-tapping and complimentary samples of the specialty brews (while supplies last). The first 100 customers through the door at each event will also receive an official brew tour T-shirt.

Here are the local tour dates and stops:

  • Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. – Wawa, 721 Naamans Creek Road, Chadds Ford
  • Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. – 2SP Brewing Company, 120 Concord Road, Aston
